HVAC Troubleshooting

Brunswick, GA Heating Air Conditioning Troubleshooting

Certified Electric, Inc. is staffed by technicians who can easily identify – and solve – your heating and cooling problems. However, sometimes you may not recognize a problem until it is too late. Here are some simple residential heating and air conditioning troubleshooting tips that can help you spot signs of trouble.

1. Consider the age of your heating or cooling system.

How old is the HVAC system in your home? If the answer is more than 5 years, you could definitely be asking for trouble, especially if the system has never been serviced. Routine maintenance can increase the life of your HVAC system, and it can also allow technicians to identify potential problems before they get out of control.

2. Think about changes made to your home recently.

Have you recently added rooms onto your house or converted a storage space into living quarters? A larger living area could be over-taxing your heater or your air conditioner. So, it might be time to also add to or completely replace your air conditioning and heating systems.

3. Make note of any changes in your utility bills.

When you’re trying to troubleshoot heating and cooling problems in your home, one of the most obvious signs of trouble can be your utility bill. Of course, your bill will go up or down with the changing seasons, but a major change mid-season might indicate that the system is having some sort of new problem. So, if your bills go up, it might be time to call one of our trained technicians at Certified Electric to come and help you.

4. Don’t ignore the obvious.

When it comes to heating and cooling systems, one of the worst mistakes homeowners can make is ignoring the obvious. If your air conditioner or heater only has occasional problems it can be easy to just ignore it for a day or so until it fixes itself, but that will only cause more trouble. Ignoring minor problems can turn those minor problems into major issues before you know it. If you act now, you might only need a minor repair. If you wait until later, your entire heating and cooling system might need to be replaced.

As you can see, residential heating and air conditioning troubleshooting can be easy in one sense. You can tell there’s a problem, if you know what to look for. However, if you want to know exactly what that problem is or how to fix it, that’s when our expert technicians here at Certified Electric, Inc. can help. Just contact us and we’ll set up an appointment to help you.

Have you considered how residential service agreements can save you money?

On July 6th, one of the hottest days we've had in 2017, our AC quit working. CE had been out to check our unit 2 weeks earlier and everything was fine. We called them late in the afternoon and although extremely busy, they sent a repair unit out after 5:30. The 2 young men were very cordial and quickly found the problem, repaired it and charged an extremely reasonable fee, just parts and minimal labor. This is just an example of the great service we always receive! We will continue to be loyal customers and hope others will see this review and give them their AC business!
