How Can I Combat Stale Air?

April 26, 2017

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

According to the Environmental Protection Agency,  indoor air quality is a major health concern. Many families keep the house shut tight to keep heated or cooled air inside. Others keep windows closed to reduce mold spores, pollen, dust and other allergens. Whatever your reasons are for keeping your house shut up tight, a lack of fresh air can cause your house to smell stuffy and stale.

WHOLE HOME AIR FILTERS CAN HELP

Scented candles and plug-in air fresheners can brighten the scent of a room. However, they accomplish this feat by adding more chemicals and pollutants into the air. Instead, consider having a whole home air filtration system installed. These appliances add on to your existing HVAC system and clean your home’s air every time your air conditioner or furnace turns on.

HOW DO AIR FILTERS WORK?

You already have some air filters working to clean your home’s air. These are the filters you replace regularly; they are usually located in ceiling vents and cold air returns. Whole-home air filters are separate devices that scrub even more dust, dander and debris out of your air supply. Getting rid of those contaminants will help your home smell better, your family breathe easier, and could even reduce how often you have to dust and vacuum.

ARE THEY HARD TO MAINTAIN?

Whole-home air filters need regular cleaning. Some models come with washable filters, while others use disposable ones. Choose the one that best fits your maintenance ambition.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT AIR FILTER?

Your air filter choice should depend on your home’s size. The good news is that all modern air filtration systems are energy efficient. Different brands and sizes will impact price. Consult with a professional to make sure you select a system that best meets your family’s needs.

Get in touch with our team of experts at Certified Electric, Inc. today to combat your stale air with a whole-home air filtration system. It’s time to experience how great healthier indoor air quality can be.

On July 6th, one of the hottest days we've had in 2017, our AC quit working. CE had been out to check our unit 2 weeks earlier and everything was fine. We called them late in the afternoon and although extremely busy, they sent a repair unit out after 5:30. The 2 young men were very cordial and quickly found the problem, repaired it and charged an extremely reasonable fee, just parts and minimal labor. This is just an example of the great service we always receive! We will continue to be loyal customers and hope others will see this review and give them their AC business!
